Creating Verification Tokens for Auditors
Generate secure, time-limited tokens that let anyone independently verify your records without a Borderly account.
What Is a Verification Token?
A verification token is a secure, one-time code that gives someone read-only access to verify your presence records and evidence. The recipient does not need a Borderly account — they simply enter the token on the verification page.
This is ideal for tax authorities, auditors, or anyone who needs to independently confirm that your records are authentic and untampered.
Creating a Token
Follow these steps:
Go to Settings > Sharing
Or, if you are a professional, go to the Protect Portal in your professional sidebar.
Tap "Create Verification Token"
Start the token creation process.
Set the scope
Choose what the token holder can see: presence records, evidence, reports. You can restrict by jurisdiction and date range.
Set the expiration
Choose how long the token is valid (1 to 90 days). After expiration, the token stops working.
Copy or send the token
The token is displayed once. Copy it and share it securely with the intended recipient. You can also send it by email directly from Borderly.
What the Recipient Sees
The recipient visits borderly.day/verify and enters the token. They see a verification portal showing your records within the scope you defined. They can check the hash chain integrity, review timestamps, and download evidence — all without trusting Borderly.
Token holders can see jurisdiction-level data, and when viewing individual record details they may also see the GPS coordinates that were used to compute each record's cryptographic hash. This is necessary for independent verification of the hash chain.
