Location Tracking Isn't Working

What to check if your days are not being recorded automatically.

Individual

Common Causes

If your days are not being tracked automatically, check the following:

1

Check location permissions

Go to iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Borderly. Make sure it is set to "Always".

2

Check Background App Refresh

Go to iPhone Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Make sure it is turned on for Borderly.

3

Don't force-quit the app

If you swipe Borderly away from the app switcher, background tracking may stop. Let iOS manage the app naturally.

4

Check your internet connection

Tracking data needs an internet connection to sync to your account. Data will sync the next time you are online.

5

Restart your iPhone

Sometimes a simple restart resolves background process issues.

Still Not Working?

If you have checked all of the above and tracking is still not working, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Borderly app. Your data is stored in the cloud and will not be lost.

If the problem persists, contact us at support@borderly.day with a description of the issue and your device model.
