Your First Day Tracked

What to expect after Borderly records your first location and how to confirm everything is working.

Individual

What Happens

After you install the iOS app and grant location permission, Borderly will record your first presence within a few hours. Here is what to expect:

  • A colored dot appears on today's date in your calendar, representing the jurisdiction you are in.
  • Your dashboard updates to show the jurisdiction and day count.
  • If you have set a residency goal, the progress bar starts moving.

How to Confirm It Is Working

Follow these steps to verify tracking is active:

1

Open the Borderly app or web dashboard

Sign in and go to the Days section to see your calendar.

2

Look for today's date

You should see a colored square on today's date. The color corresponds to the jurisdiction you are currently in.

3

Check the dashboard summary

Your Presence Summary should show at least 1 day in your current jurisdiction.

It can take up to a few hours for the first record to appear. If you do not see anything after 24 hours, check the Troubleshooting section.

Recording a Day Manually

If you need to record a day that was not tracked automatically — for example, a past day before you installed the app — you can add it manually. Go to the Days section, tap on the date, and select the jurisdiction you were in.

Manual entries are clearly labeled so you always know how each day was recorded.
